The Texas Longhorns dominated the game against the BYU Cougars, winning 35-6. Texas started strong with a 74-yard punt return touchdown by Xavier Worthy in the first quarter, setting the tone for the game. Maalik Murphy threw two touchdown passes to Adonai Mitchell, and the Longhorns defense held BYU to only field goals.
BYU struggled offensively, with quarterback Kedon Slovis throwing two interceptions. The Texas defense was relentless, sacking Slovis multiple times and forcing turnovers. Jonathon Brooks led the ground game for Texas with 98 rushing yards and a touchdown.
